In-School Field Trips

You won’t need a school bus for this field trip! When a trunk full of puppets rolls through the classroom door the kids will forget all about that bus ride and begin creating their own magic. And here’s a guarantee — teachers will have just as much fun as the students!

School presentations can be tailored for single classes or entire grade levels, for a few hours or the entire day.  Older students (grades 3-5) will enjoy the opportunity to apply academics as they learn and create with hands-on activities. Students use class sets of colorful sock and rod puppets to learn the basic principles of puppetry and improvisation — right in the classroom! They then have the opportunity to break into small groups to create a short skit, using a Story Spine to aid them with the process. The entertainment begins when the groups present their their stories to the class from behind a portable stage. This activity promotes academic and social skills, problem solving, spatial awareness and much more.

Students receive a checklist of Learning Goals that guides them as they practice different movements and expressions with their puppets.
